This is the most common basic folding method, which requires only two inside reverse folds. It is usually used to fold the mouth and tail of origami animals. The final perspective is shown here so that you can understand its composition more easily. In most origami instructions, folding details will not be shown in such detail as here. So learning it here will make it easier to complete all kinds of origami art.
Step 1
: Make a crease by fold the top corner to the bottem corner，then unfold.
Step 2
: Fold both edges to center line as shown below.
Step 3
: Fold top edge to bottom edge along the dotted line.
Step 4
: Make a crease.
Step 5
: Make a crease again.
Then unfold.
Step 6
: Make an inside reverse fold on (b) and pull out (a).If you unfold the model, it will be easier to fold it.
The black dotted line (b) will is mountain fold line.
The red dotted line (b) will is valley fold line.
Step 7
: Two inside reverse folds are done, usually for making origami bird’s beaks. Now we will learn another inside reverse folding in next step.
Step 8
: Make an inside reverse fold on (b) and pull out (a).If you unfold the model, it will be easier to fold it.
The black dotted line (b) will is mountain fold line.
The red dotted line (b) will is valley fold line.
Step 9
: This folding is usually used for folding the tail of an animal. It is the same as the folding of the beak of a bird, but the final display is different.
